We stayed here after a long day climbing in Jotunheimen NP, which is only about a 30-minute drive away. This unique hotel comprises a complex of beautiful, historic buildings within a stunning mountainous setting. You can see that a lot of effort has gone into the preservation of its history including maintaining original furnishings, the art and decor, and the historic items used there. We stayed in a restored schoolroom - it was cosy, clean and comfortable. We also really enjoyed bathing in a wooden tub! The toiletries were plentiful and lovely. We paid extra for the dinner and it was absolutely divine - fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. (They also kindly accommodated my pescetarian dietary preferences!). The breakfast was also plentiful, diverse and delicious - many of the breakfast items were handmade (including the pastries and jams!), which is so rare these days. After breakfast, you were encouraged to make sandwiches to take for your lunch which was very kind. The staff were very friendly and hospitable.

The place had two beds, albeit very narrow ones, a shower, a kettle and a heater to dry our clothes. We had what we needed but nothing much else. However, in the area, it was a reasonable price for crashing for the night.

We loved the stay, the location, the facilities. Everything was complete. We ordered the breakfast basked which was great as well. The hosts were super friendly and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend this place.

This place exceeded all my expectations. The place was pricey, so I expected good, but the location is brilliant. The house was literally on water and we had a huge terrace, the kitchen was great, the living room was super cozy and had many windows. It is a great place if you want to enjoy the beautiful Norwegian fjords and if you like to hike lightly or intensely, or if you want to do water sports or cycling trips. The place is relatively close to the glacier and waterfalls and the drive around the fjord is just a blessing for the eye, especially on a sunny day! Highly recommend and would 100% come back.

Cozy cabins, friendly host, everything looks really nice. The restaurant/reception is very unique, had a lovely drink by the fire there. The cabin was roomy and had everything we needed.
