- From US$115.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,595 reviewsThe rooms were spacious, well maintained and extremely clean. They had everything as promised and matched the pictures. As a standard, they provide a small kitchenette in room with cutlery, microwave, mini fridge and a coffee set. The room had a heater, air conditioner, television and also a working jacuzzi. Fresh towels were provided with amenities except a shaving kit. The wardrobe had a hair drier and iron with iron board. The staff were extremely friendly and kept a good eye for anything left behind post check-out. Room has instruction manual for everything, including the air conditioning and all electronic equipment. A small booklet was provided with guide to Whanganui. The property is placed at a perfect location, right next to major supermarkets and fuel stations, the Whanganui town is about 15mins walk from the location. Although there is no restaurant on-site, fast food joints are right next to it within walking distance and so is Whanganui town as mentioned.Guest review byRonIndia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 180 reviewsSuch a great little find, a cute holiday park really close to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike. Greg the owner, did everything possible to make sure our stay was comfortable by providing so much information about the area, and particularly the hike and what to expect. He also drove the shuttle bus to the start of the hike which was great and once again explained to the group everything necessary. We felt he really made a huge difference to our visit as we felt someone was there looking after us.Guest review byJenniferAustralia

The Whanganui Museum and the Sergeant Gallery are both worthy of extended visits, they are a highlight for any visitor to the area. The small arts and crafts galleries are interesting and innovative; some very fine and quirky cafes enrich the experience - for any visitor, Whanganui is now one of the most satisfying cultural locations in NZ.Guest review byAnonymousNew Zealand - 10.0

Really lovely township to stay out for visits to Mount Ruapehu - great selection of food venues (both takeaway like La Pizzeria or dine in like Cypress Tree). Carrot Land adventure park is a great visit for little kids.Guest review byMarieNew Zealand - 8.0

We were there because of the annual automotive swap meet. We have family living there. The town is pretty, easy to get around. We were recommended Aunty Jo Jo for fish and chips; very fresh and delicious.Guest review byLyndaNew Zealand - 2.0

Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was infested with ants which were in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. We awoke to find them in our beds and crawling all over us. Most unpleasant experience. I advised the manager but he didn't really apologise and I believe he was aware of the situation. His response was that he would need to get a pest controller in. I felt he didn't believe us, but we showed the cleaners and they were shockewd.Guest review byDionNew Zealand - 10.0

My baby and I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed everything about Waiouru. We were at the Oasis motel which is across the road from the Z gas station and next to a Diner, bakery, bar & bottle store which breaks off from the motel but still far away from the rooms. A bit secluded but love how everything’s so close and the nice cold weather.Guest review byShaniquaNew Zealand - 4.0
The empty Chateau is a shame but we hope that will be sorted...
The empty Chateau is a shame but we hope that will be sorted soon. The neglected buildings in the village on both sides of Bruce Road is not a good look. Hopefully they will be restored and have tenants soon. We understand Covid and the uncertainly around the sale of the ski field had a big influence but we hope that it would be fixed soonGuest review byTredouxMNew Zealand
