Boquete throughly impressed me.
Boquete throughly impressed me. The town has much more going on than one initially sees. The weather is a little cooler in Boquete, but still a rainforest and is lush and beautiful. The people who live there are very proud of their town and province, and you can feel it. I love the mountains, and the beauty and richness of the land was just stunning. I went on an easy hike to the Pipeline Waterfall trail, and even though the waterfall was very small, the hike was gorgeous-- and bonus, you get to see a 1,000 year old tree! I did a Don Pepe Coffee Estate tour which was also incredible and insanely informative. One of the reasons I went to Boquete was to summit Baru and it didn't disappoint. I decided to do a sunrise jeep tour to the top rather than hike and it was an adventure within an adventure that was worth it. It was a crystal clear morning at the summit and we saw both oceans from the highest point in Panama. Even though I didn't hike to the top, it was one of the most magnificent experiences I've ever had and will forever be etched in my mind.Guest review byAMY - 10

The resort is spotless, and its location is ideal. The beach is beautiful, with white sand that goes on for miles. We thought the food was exceptional, and the staff were so friendly and hard-working. We had no interest in eating anywhere else. Very isolated part of Panama. You can find decent food at the various resorts. They need a better market in the little village area. Something as simple as sunscreen could not be purchased. Great vibe to the town. It is much more costly than I had expected as the other parts of Panama are much, much more affordable. Big Daddy's was a great place to eat and drink, There are many coffee shops but they don't open until 8 or 9 am? Everything you could want is in walking distance unless you are in the mountains. I was there for dental implants and Odonto Smile Clinic in Alto Boquete was excellent!!! Dr. Dagmar Rios was so accommodating and professional. This is a great place if you like hiking.
This is a great place if you like hiking. We hiked into the forest, across the mountain to Boquete, and just around the local area. The local busses are great, really frequent and easy to use. Next time I would take the bus down the road a bit to cut down the distance over to Boquete as that hike was a bit long for us. We traveled in Jan therefore the weather was perfect. Nature is amazing and the temperature as well. The city of Volcan services the needs of the habitats. Streets are wide and new, clean, no traffic. Restaurants close at 7pm. Choices are v limited. Very. Thought Volcan is just an hour’s drive from Boquette, the layout was completely different. All of the hype you have heard about Boquete is true. I don't know how anyone could visit this place and not fall in love with it and its people. Friendly people, wonderful sense of community, nature is everywhere. Butterflies float about the flowers, artistic and whimsical nature is all around. Favorite restaurants were The Rock, Christopher's Steakhouse. Favorite street food was the Columbian street taco (red bus) and Rudo's street tacos (Tacosrudos.com). David is only good for a few stores to shop at if you own a home and need supplies. The city is dirt and the sidewalks are a joke. Watch your step everywhere or break and ankle. This was a perfect place for a small family or a group. What a pleasant surprise. My only complaint was we did not stay long enough! Service was fantastic, everyone on the property was friendly and kind.
