- From $168.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,338 reviewsThe location is excellent for access to Caminha central area. Being slightly south of the center area provides a quiet, comfortable base for visiting Caminha. The hotel has a small fitness room with great cardio machines, great dumbbells, adjustable bench and a multi-station machine. I found the fitness adequate for a basic workout. The room was without question very nice with a view of the pool area and the hills behind. The breakfast met my needs with multiple coffee/espresso options, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt and other traditional breakfast items. Again, the views of the waterfront were quite nice.Guest review byCamino 2023 Rick FLUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 64 reviewsPet friendly accomodation was our key factor, also this feel of entire and fully equipped rural house gave a sense of how people live in this area. We got really hooked up by the chimney and setting up the fireplace. It's very remote from everything surrounded by the mountains. There is a bakery in the nearby Rouças village which is the only place where it's possible to buy bread. Everything else needs to purchased before coming here.Guest review byjzeppelinaEstonia
- From $180.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 516 reviewsEverything was perfect! The Turkish (steam) bath and sauna were amazing (just what we needed after a few days of walking the Camino). The breakfast buffet was amazing (we did not eat dinner). The room was comfortable - they even provide flip flops to wear down to the spa. And we were able to find a pair of shoes for my husband in the shop.Guest review byWalterUnited States

A small city north of Porto, with a lot of history and attractions. Plenty of shops, cafes, old churches, and restaurants, but the bar scene is lacking. There are many senior citizens here, since it's one of the more affordable and lovable parts of Portugal. I like kebab restaurants, but otherwise cooked for myself in hostel kitchens.Guest review byKyleUnited States - 10.0

Intertesting port town with a huge monastery on top of a hill. Loved the restaurants and it is easy to drive to other areas of Northern Portugal from there. The weather was comfortable, too. Be sure to bring Euros for tram ride to monastery. We went there to rest and relax between our Spain and Portugal tours.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

This small city was an absolute gem - stunning ancient squares and streets filled with lovely cafes and restaurants, altogether not as touristy as it could have been and very easy to walk around. We dined in two of the main squares with traditional Portuguese cuisine and inexpensive wines, and lovely ice cream outlets. We took the cablecar up the hillside and walked back down. We visited the Ducal palace (fantastic reconstruction) and castle (ruin). We could easily have spent a week here relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. And very easy to reach from Oporto.Guest review byTraceyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples.
Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families. Some surprising sculptures dotted around the esplanade from 1997 one in particular near the San Lorenca fort at Esponsende.Guest review byRogerIreland - 10.0
Caminha is a quaint little town on the Spanish border.
Caminha is a quaint little town on the Spanish border. It has the local charm of a Portuguese town. We stayed in an apartment, dined out, and cooked at home. The local farmers market is on Wednesday and Saturday, ideal for buying fresh vegetables, fruit, charcuterie, and bread. The local fish market has bacalhau and fresh vegetables from Tuesday to Saturday. Our favourite lunch place was Trincaria Happy Food Bakery. Their daily lunch menu was great and good value. At the square, we enjoyed Cafe Central for a drink in the afternoon, an the pasteleria on the other side, for morning coffee. Canto do Lobo, with its slow food concept, is recommended for dinner at least once during your stay. It offers great food, great service, really good conversation, and value for money. They also have a huge beer collection, both bottles and draft beer. Easy to move around the town on foot, and several small supermarkets are open until 21.00 during the week. Walking distance to the beach (15-20min). Easy to bike to nearby communities like Moledo or Praia de Ancora. From the waterfront, there are taxi boats to Spain, La Guardia. If you are in a car, it's a 15-minute drive over the bridge, and you are in Spain. We enjoyed walks in the area and around the town and some drives to nearby towns for meals and exploration. If you are without a car, the train goes to every city nearby in the morning and afternoon, and it is only 1.5 hours by train to Porto.Guest review byChristineDenmark - 10.0

Ponte de Lima is a lovely old town by the side of the River Lima. There are plenty of small shops to visit and more than enough restaurants to choose from. Every restaurant we visited was exceptional, with reasonably-priced food and helpful members of staff. We visited the market while it was here and there was everything you could possibly need on sale. All in all, a great place to say, and we will return.Guest review byTimothyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you want to go hiking in the mountains and see a lot of nature, just right. You can do everything by car even when you are running. Because of the narrow streets, you shouldn't be on the road with a big car.Guest review byGunarGermany - 10.0
