Not really sure about Prachuap KK - far too many stray dogs which can feel a bit frightening especially at night! Not many reviewers have mentioned this - our host had walking sticks to deter the dogs and monkeys! The place is very low key and not many places to just sit and have a drink at the end of the day. Ban Krut is a seaside resort which I’m sure is usually very quiet. We visited for new year so it was full of local Thai families setting up to enjoy new year on the beach - lots of food stalls and great atmosphere - fireworks sat at a table on the beach with beers from local vendor was just perfect! Rocky Point resort in Thap Sakeacis a fantastic relaxing place at the beach, not crowded, few great restaurants on the beach on easy walking distance. The resort also has a restaurant/bar which was closed while we were staying at the resort due to Covid 19 restrictions. However, they provide you with a menu so you can order food from a nearby restaurant which will be delivered at no extra costs at your villa. Bring some drinks for the evening and have a great evening on the porch. Breakfast however was served at the restaurant. Aquarium was excellent, cheap entry. Museum of science and technology very interesting if you could read Thai. No English unfortunately. Prachuap museum although small was very good with detailed info of the local history etc in English and Thai. A special thanks for the free guided tour by the local official on duty. As it appears to be closed make sure you ask and they will open it up. Free entry. Invigorating walk up the 300+ steps to the temple on the hill for some magnificent views. Arrive at Lungcha homestay in the afternoon. Make a boat trip at sunset (starting point directly in front of the homestay). The lake with thousands of lotus flowers and birds is phantastic. They offer a 150.- baht dinner in Thai style (a bit oily, but good and plenty). Next morning do another sunrise trip: it is very different, because the light is different, there are more birds, the lotus flowers are open, the atmosphere is just magic. Costs 500,- baht for the boat (takes up to four people). Breakfast at Lungcha included and check out. There is not much to do or see near the homestay, perhaps you can stroll to the Ranger IV station in about 20 min, there is a small stripe of beach and access to the lake.Guest review byKurtAustria
