- From $30.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 323 reviewsMy wife and I planned our trip to Koh Lipe so that we’d spend two weeks in a bungalow that was cooled using only a fan, and two weeks in a hotel room with air-conditioning. For the bungalow portion of our visit, we chose to stay at Family Song Koh Lipe. It was the right choice. The staff were extremely helpful, going above and beyond to assist us with issues such as transportation, communication, and even locating things on the island. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. The fan in the room is perfect for keeping the place nice and cool––not once did we think that AC was needed. There was a mosquito net, but honestly, they just never came in the room. Other amenities included a safe for valuables and an electric tea kettle, both of which came in handy. The shower was nice and hot every time. The beach was just a short walk away. A hammock and chairs on the porch made for nice mornings. Now that I’ve covered the basics, let me tell you what really makes Family Song special. First and foremost, it’s their commitment to the environment. They provide water for their guests which you can put in a reusable container so as not to use plastic. They even supply coffee and nice ceramic mugs (there were drinking glasses as well). We also felt good about using a fan instead of air-conditioning to lower our carbon footprint on the island. The second reason that we love Family Song is that there are a group of wonderful animals there that interacted with us regularly. They are all well looked after and friendly. It is mostly dogs, but there is also this little cat that is extremely affectionate and fun to be around. As I’m writing this, we’ve just moved into our hotel room, and we miss Family Song already. It was a great experience and one that I would recommend to anyone who cares about the environment, loves animals, values quality service, and craves a little more adventure than a hotel room can offer.Guest review byWendyUnited States
- From $260.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 588 reviewsPleasantly surprised by this resort of which I had some doubts at first. The shining star for us was the restaurant (The Cove Bistro) - eat to your hearts delight (or until you drop) with so much variety in addition to amazing seafood options and affordability. Also, if you spend over some amounts at the restaurant, you get discounts at the Starbucks counter. The resort is well situated with a small island right in front of it. You can swim, snorkel or kayak to this island with ease or just chill on the beach which is clean and sandy. There are two large pools, one with a bar. The room was so spacious and modern, had a massive bathtub and a shower. The rooms walks out onto a balcony that is directly connected to the upper pool, and has lounge chairs and a hanging nest to swing around in. The staff really are the spirit of Thailand: kind, friendly, helpful and engaging. Also, if you're an animal lover, there are also doggos and cats to welcome you.Guest review byFlorisSouth Africa
- From $304.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 932 reviewsWe stayed 4 nights at Akira Lipe as a family (2 adults and 3 children), and overall it was a fantastic experience. The resort is beautiful, the facilities are great, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Just a small note for Muslim families: the hotel is not particularly Muslim-friendly, though still acceptable. Alcohol and pork are served, which is understandable in a mixed resort setting. However, during breakfast, special attention should be given to food handling. For example, utensils used for pork and eggs are often mixed, and it would be appreciated if the hotel could make an effort to separate them – especially by providing dedicated utensils for halal-friendly items. Apart from this, everything else was top-notch – a great stay in a beautiful setting.Guest review byAmineFrance
- From $152.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 914 reviewswe booked for 8 days (couple), when arrived got us free upgrade :) The location is good - 5-10 minutes from walking street, not noisy, boats-free beach right outside the resort, there's a shortcut to sunset beach behind the bungalows. Staff very responsive and helpful, cleaned our room on request with no delay. Breakfast good , enough food and good variety. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, everything worked in the bath. Over the 8 days we called this resort our home, and would definitely recommend and come back.Guest review byDavidIsrael

Very beautiful island with stunning beaches and breathtaking views. Lot of local people and not so crowded in october compared to Phuket or other islands. However, it can be a bit dirty and old outside turistic areas. Overall a great way to see the beaches while also understanding the local life. Lots of restaurants and nice places on the walking street. The island is small and can be done by walking from almost any resortGuest review byAndreea-ElenaUnited Kingdom - 10

A good place to relax and stop over before you go to Koh Lipe or Koh Adang. I would recommend Papaya Mom 2 Restaurant for delicious HALAL AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD. A visit by walking or jogging near the Mu Ko Phetra National Park during sunset was awesome and great view.Guest review byDin AbasMalaysia - 6.0

I don't remember the city of Satun... There is the Province of Satun. However, the city of Pak Bara is worth visiting, especially the waterfront and the nice (slightly crowded) cafes. The nearby "Mu Ko Phetra National Park" deserves special attention with a long jetty enabling a trip to the time of dinosaurs.Guest review byMuruthiiPoland - 10

I was here in low season so 60% of bars and stuff were either closed or empty. Doesn’t matter there’s lots of nature to discover for the adventurous at heart. Diving, koh Adang, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling and lazy walks followed by legit massageGuest review byJon - 10

I was there on business heading to Langkawi so only one night then the ferry the next day. With transport there is a lot to see in Satun. A quiet little backwater coastal town that has a ferry to Langkawi. If I had time I would do more exploring. I ate at the local shops a donut and a coffee. Main meal at my room as I brought it with me in my car fridge. I did go to a excellent coffee shop before checking into my room. Satun is developing but in not way touristic, No crowdsGuest review byBob MottAustralia - 8.0

Koh Lipe is a tropical gem with stunning beaches, turquoise waters and a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for snorkeling, diving, and relaxing. However, there is noticeable plastic pollution, some roads are in very poor condition with deep potholes and puddles, and trash can be seen along certain areas. After about a week, you’ve pretty much seen the whole island, so it’s ideal for a short stay.Guest review bySven Van BeekThailand - 8.0
Good place to stay with your family on your vacation.
Good place to stay with your family on your vacation. Good eating place around the area such as: Papaya Mom, Rim Lay Kitchen & Restaurant, Nava Seafood, Bara Roti and few other restaurants. You can also go to Koh Lipe for the stay and some other water activities.Guest review byMuhamad AidiMalaysia
