- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 739 reviewsThis is a beautiful, peaceful oasis in Sukhothai, just 20 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bicycle from the old city and very close to the night market and a couple of restaurants. The hotel is very calm and quiet and incredibly beautiful with the lake, gardens and little bridges. Everyone from the staff is so nice and helpful, the service is truly outstanding. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and the little balcony is a fantastic addition. Despite the water there aren’t too many mosquitoes around. The breakfast is delicious. We were here during low season and the options were limited, but the staff cooks eggs to taste (e.g. omelette) and the taste and presentation are outstanding. The restaurant is great too, overlooking the lake and serving delicious (if expensive) Thai food. We had a transfer late in the evening on the day of checkout and the staff allowed us to use the room for longer and use the facilities and pool for as long as we wanted. They helped us arrange a driver for some sightseeing. We stayed at this resort over the New Year's holiday. It was easy to walk back and forth from the hotel to the historic park. A place to get in touch with history. Come here every year and never tired of it. Particularly nice to come during Loy Krathong, the vibrancy of the town is just amazing. The lights, the show, the krathong, the atmosphere are breath-taking. Spend some time at Si Satchanalai as well which is worth visiting as this preceded Sukhothai. We enjoyed the local Thai food at eating places along the street, the food at the night market and the smoothies!!! One thing about Sukhothai is there is no GRAB, so must arrange transport to Si Satchanalai.
