Due to the heat, people use the park in the early morning and at dusk. The hotel towers sit side by side so some rooms look out on other rooms and other rooms look out at the city. We did not specify but were in rooms with beautiful city views. A rooster breeder was located down below our rooms so there was a lot of crowing in the early mornings which I found pleasant but my spouse found annoying. Honestly for a one night stay for myself, wife, and baby it was more than enough. Room had a balcony which you could smoke on that was nice. A lovely town in the north-east of Thailand. Has many attractions for good quality food, both Thai and farang (including a number of high quality cafes), farang bars, a decent-sized Central shopping mall and multiplex cinema. There's a great night market area with thriving Thai food stalls, especially Train Night Market (near the station) and the nearby UD Town. Udon Thani is a good base for exploring Thailand's Isaan (North Eastern region) rather than being a destination in its own right. It has an airport with flights to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and a few other Thai destinations. Despite being styled Udon Thani International Airport, it does not currently field any international flights. The city has a reasonably compact centre with a Central shopping mall, a few foreign restaurants and plenty of Thai ones, as well as the usual Thai markets, street food and cafés.
