We (a family with 2 kids at the age of 6 months / 4 years) had a wonderful stay at The Residence Douz. Amazing rooms, attentive and super child friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we felt very welcome in a positive environment, right next to the Sahara desert. The spa area is great. My best hotel experience in Tunisia so far, we even extended our stay. The hotel is very comfortable, staff were helpful, and it was the first and only place one could get by with a card, for which I was grateful. The pool is very nice, food was very tasty and varied. There are covered parking spaces, which was great. The bar was great, playing oldies music, we kinda got stuck in there for a while. One can book Sahara trips in the lobby.

The hosts were lovely and extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time, it could not have been better! The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Additionally, the food in the restaurant was very good and clearly prepared with love and care. For people exploring the south of Tunisia (and birds or other wildlife), the location is great - supermarkets and tank stations nearby in Kebili - while the Sahara, mountains and salt lake are all within an hour drive. I cannot recommend this place enough, and when we return to Tunisia we will for sure visit Dar Barka again!

A great stay in the dates farm. Welcoming host Fadil who made sure we had everything we needed. Ferid was in touch through whatsapp prior to arrival. Dinner was great and plenty, tasty food and the bread making in the sand was a nice experience. Rooms were comfortable, it had all the amenities required. Highly recommended.

This place is truly an oasis in the desert! Everything was very clean! The staff was very polite and helpful! Also there is a factory with many delicious date products!

It was an amazing experience something you have to try… stay at the camp is totally safe, and make a favour to ur self go for the dinner at the dessert.. everyone was friendly even if they couldn’t speak in english. Totally worth it
