I have had the best experience here with such a beautiful atmosphere and services provided! The beach also very accessible with wonderful seating also next to the pool and gym! The food is top level with verity of options, "don't miss out the fresh catch of the day"! The service provided by very professional and nice staff, special thanks to Evaline and Max for this lovely welcoming and friendly conversations explaining all to the residents! Lovely place highly recommended and would definitely visit again!!

We read the reviews before booking but were amazed that everything was even better! The owner Max welcomed us on our arrival and we had welcome drinks and children got ice creams. Very lovely place, spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds. We loved the relaxing pool/restaurant area. Great to connect with other guests. Free water available at all times. Great breakfast that is different every day and it has no end time. One day we had a very early tour and we had our breakfast at noon. Beach is also very close. Max was so helpful that he even organized us a driver to take us to Paje for two times less money than our planned taxi was going to be. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone! Ps. Our kids favourite part were the friendly dog and the cat.

We were two families with kids of all ages. We had a perfect time. The staff is genuinely friendly and happy to cater to your every need. The location right on the beach is superb. The bungalows and restaurant are around the pool so if you have young children you can watch them in the pool at your leisure. The atmosphere was relaxed. It is a small place so no crowds. The beach was great. The breakfast was delicious and very gracious with a menu to chose from even though it was complementary

I have never felt better cared for at a hotel / resort, than I did at AVO. We were greeted on arrival by the owner, and offered fresh juice on arrival while they took our bags to our room. They met our every need during our stay with alacrity and grace. The system of communication, using WhatsApp to reach out for help, was inspired. And the included breakfast was extensive, and delicious. We were delighted to be staying on the east coast of the island instead of the more touristy / populated north beaches.

We were a family of 7 ranging from under 2 to over 70. We were welcomed with warmth by Ally (Blue guide) who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The rooms were spacious and amazing, located next to each other with everything in walkable distance. The food was amazing and there's always an option for everyone in the family. The service everywhere was always super friendly, helpful and with broad smiles (for the kids especially). The manager Hassan who was always overseeing things at the restaurants always checked in with guests and also listened to our recommendations (which he implemented by the next meal already). The beach was tide dependent but beautiful always. It is preferable to wear aqua shoes but not a must. I've only mentioned 2 staff names but the warmth and smiles spread across all staff in all departments. It was really an amazing stay and would definitely recommend TUI Blue Zanzibar to others. Thank you for the amazing experience!

By far our favorite hotel. We booked the garden view pool villa for 1 day and visited during our honeymoon. They organized a surprise for us with candles and flowers which made us so happy. All stuff were genuine and helpful. Breakfast and dinner was unreal and during dinner we had live music playing cocktails were very good as well. The main pool was very unique and the pool in our room was bigger than what I imagined. The rooms were very luxurious and beautiful. Also, when my husband had a sunburn, they brought us the hotel's doctor to check on him which we appreciated a lot. We had a great stay and thank you very much for this!

Enjoyed the overall 'happy' atmosphere that is all around at Stone Town, you feel perfectly safe, everybody is friendly, nobody is harassing you. Typically enjoyed walking through the narrow streets of Stone Town, sniffing up all kinds of scents.

The vibes are great — everything you need is nearby, including shops, restaurants, and tour offices. Restaurants on the beach tend to be a bit pricey, but if you take a short walk into the side streets, you’ll find places offering the same quality food at much more reasonable prices. What I didn’t like were the beach boys — they’re nice and friendly, but can be a bit annoying as they keep trying to sell things. They’re not too pushy, but it’s hard to relax when someone approaches you every couple of minutes. The only time you can truly enjoy some peace is early in the morning. Important note : you have to strongly negotiate the prices and people are very nice and easy going Try to learn few words from their language they will be super happy :)

Paje, beautiful place and beach, plenty of restaurants both on the beach and on the road. The only downside is that the beach is in the shade by 16:30 and very high and low tides makes taking a dip complicated !

A peaceful and welcoming town with a strong sense of community and a safe, relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in a peaceful part of town, where there were noticeably fewer street vendors selling beads and souvenirs compared to other areas. This made the atmosphere even more calm and relaxing, allowing us to fully enjoy the local charm without feeling overwhelmed.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

Our stay was amazing and peaceful. The staff was funny and very friendly. Big thanks to Jana and her staff, Lameck in the restaurant section and Janet in housekeeping was so sweet and they looked after us at our 8-night stay. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to...

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.

I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people. It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you
