Historic and beautiful option outside Ithaca. Would definitely stay here again given the surroundings but specially the charm of the room and the house itself. That breakfast (OMG the homemade pumpkin pancakes) with those garden views remain as one of the highlights of our trip. In additon, we booked last minute and they were super helpful and arrival was easy and smooth.

I cannot boast about this place enough. It's a beautifully designed cottage with surprising details everywhere you look. So spacious and comfortable. The bathroom felt like a spa! Nestled in a wooded area we were greeted with a couple of very cute deer as we drove in. It was pure paradise. Perfect for couples or families who want to explore the Finger Lakes.

I have a very strange perspective to offer here: my husband got food poisoning the day before we arrived, so he literally never left the room. He couldn't have asked for a better place to be holed up in. This may be a boutique hotel but we were stunned at how updated, clean and spacious the room was. It's the perfect marriage between "charming aesthetic" and "modern functionality." We arrived 2 hours before check-in but they let us into the room early; easy and free parking in the back; all food and coffee in the room and lobby was complimentary; the room's carpet was clean and plush; large, comfortable bed; modern & clean bathrooms; cable and streaming apps on the TV; precise and swift in-room control of heat/air. Plus, it's located just off the main street, so it's a 1 minute walk to downtown or a 3 minute walk to a CVS or grocery store. I enjoyed the proximity to town so I could pop in and out and explore; my husband enjoyed the comfy bed, wifi/TV, and modern bathroom!

    I highly recommends staying at the Budget Inn. The owner was extremely nice and welcoming. He allowed us to check in an hour early after driving and arriving early. The rooms were very clean and service was provided each day. The room had a huge fridge and microwave. The hotel had breakfast and the owner gave us recommendations of places in town to hike. The hotel is in a great location, right across the street from CVS and a grocery store. It is only a few minute driver to Watkins Glen State Park. Additionally, the owner called me to let me know that I had left my sneakers in the closet. When I arrived to pick them up, he had neatly placed them in a bag for me. Highly recommend!! :)

    Loved This Place! Stay Here!!! Property Owner/Host Marcus is wonderful! He upgraded our room upon arrival. Great and helpful information on Idlwilde Inn's website regarding house and grounds, Watkins Glen. Check it out before you book. Beyond charming property, delicious breakfast, coffee and tea available 24/7, within walking distance from town (it is on a hill, so anyone with impaired mobility would need to take a car), convenient parking.

    Cute walkable town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Vibrant community. Many wonderful options for food and drink. I recommend Mix and Revelry Yards. There is a beautiful little waterfall hiking trail at the edge of town. The farmer's market was an impressive collection of produce, prepared foods, and artisanal goods. There is a huge park with paths, a playground, and kayak rentals. Ithica is a great starting point if you want to visit the many wineries on Cayuga Lake.

    The Vintage Grand Prix weekend at Watkins Glen was on our...

    The Vintage Grand Prix weekend at Watkins Glen was on our bucket list for several years, and it was very much worth the wait. The Friday events included the vintage race through the downtown, and it was amazing to see all the old race/sports cars thundering down the main drag. The historic recreation of the technical inspection of the pre-war cars at Smalley's Garage was the highlight of Friday's events. It was awesome to be able to walk the stunning falls in the morning, browse the shops in the afternoon and view the vintage race at 6pm. The array of bars and restaurants with so many cuisine choices was quite amazing for such a quaint business district.

    A great town featuring a beautiful lake with nice parks and scenic areas alongside. The Smith Opera House is a great venue for a concert and the area has a number of nice restaurants, including one adjacent to the opera house. While we were there on a Sunday and many businesses were closed, there appears to be a number of interesting stores, shops and eateries to explore.

    Canandaigua is a lovely town.

    Canandaigua is a lovely town. We visited Sonnenberg Gardens and the Granger Homestead and Carriage House Museum while there We also ate at Green Front Restaurant which is a sports bar atmosphere, but family oriented too, great food. It is easy to get around. I would stay at a hotel next time.

    Weekend warrior (4th July) quick getaway. Very last minute. Booked online on the drive there. Nice facility worth the value especially if you like having a kitchenet. Rear rooms facing highway may be an issue for some. Staff is great, Breakfast great. A little dated, but clean and it appears they're working to earn your business. Great home base. In and out easy. Highway near bye. Mall near bye.

    We spent the day in Geneva at the lake, then the evening in Senaca Falls. Waterloo is more residential right in between the two towns. We were only staying one night and found Waterloo was cost effective. When there is so much to do outside and and days are nice I don't put a lot of emphasis on the hotel view. The room was very nice, we were in a safe area and the staff was very nice. We would come back.

    Normally I would have stayed longer except the weather was terrible and we had to leave early to go home. Would have canceled if the forecast let us know how bad it got. Or if the cancellation policy was better. Plan on coming back Seneca falls but will not be staying at this hotel. Want to spend more time at Montezuma and at the women's Rights museum no

    Adorable little town right on the beautiful Keuka Lake. Ate dinner one night at Keuka Restaurant which was outstanding. Town is centrally located to other points of interest in the Finger Lakes region. The Outlet trail with its waterfalls is an easy walking trail.

    Auburn is great (not the Day's Inn in July, 2023). The city suffered in the urban renewal of the late '60's and '70's, but has a great theater program, good restaurants (with many of them a good step above!), a couple of good breweries, museums and amazing history. This is the place where the fundamentals of sound movies were invented. It's where the world's larges rope maker and marine cordage mfr were based. Very popular women's shoes (first half of 20th century) were located here. Remington farm implements, International Harvester farm implements, lots of science discoveries and more... Delve into this place, by all means. Visit Owasco Lake, go see other towns and all of the Finger Lakes, Auburn makes a nice base. Just choose a good hotel and spoil yourself.

    Everything was right there basically.7 Eleven,Bk,Dunkin...

    Everything was right there basically.7 Eleven,Bk,Dunkin Donuts,The Casino,Dollar General,Taco Bell a Diner and other gas stations.However if you need to go to Walmart or Target go before coming because it’s about 15 min away.
