We came to Seattle by accident!

We came to Seattle by accident! Our flights to Vancouver Island were cancelled given an Air Canada strike so flew to Seattle instead thinking we could get to Vancouver by car and from there to Victoria. In the end we got the Clipper Ferry from Seattle to Victoria which was a wonderful trip and likely saved us time. Also spotted whales on the journey, a nice bonus. We had just a day in Seattle, went to the Chihuly Garden and Glass which was truly amazing then took the Seattle monorail to downtown, visited the market. Didn't do the Space Needle, another time maybe. What an amazing place and has given us the taste - we'll be back!

It's amazing SeaTac functions at all, it is not user friendly in any way, it's way too crowded and officials in any capacity are stressed and not particularly friendly. Not a great experience for those visiting Seattle, but there's no other option

Beautiful little town, especially at Christmastime, with wonderful decorations. Chick-Fil-A is conveniently located, lots of little shops and a great Mall. Snowflake Lane's small show from Thanksgiving through Christmas is only 20 min, but worth driving 4 hours and staying overnight just to see.

You MUST stay at the Olympic Lodge by Ayers!

You MUST stay at the Olympic Lodge by Ayers! Beautiful, cozy environment, very nice continental breakfast, lovely fireplace and lots of seating, and we loved the hot tub! The staff was fantastic. We're not so out of shape that we can't get around just fine, but we're also not hiking enthusiasts. So if you're looking for stunning scenery/views with little-to-no hiking experience, the drive through Lake Crescent was other-worldly beautiful with frequent opportunities to stop and take pics/use the restroom, and the trail to the waterfall in Sol Duc Falls was straight out of a fairy tale. It was about 1.5 miles(ish) and totally worth it. If I can do it, you can do it!

Bellingham has a really nice safe vibe. Family friendly, no skyscrapers, easy to get around. Lots of great restaurants, coffee houses etc.We much preferred it to the big city vibe in Seattle. Walking along the bay in Boulevard Park at sunset with the all the families was a joy.

I only live 30 min north of Vancouver, my reason for visiting was my pets and 4th of July noise. If you are visiting the Portland Or/Vancouver area, the Vancouver side of the river is just less crowded than the Portland side. For a very good meal, Little Italy downtown Vancouver has been one of my favorites for several years great food and good people. Visiting especially down town Portland, I would recommend driving to the Van Port park and ride then take the yellow line train into down town, way easier and cheaper than paying for parking downtown. If it is raining go to the expo center park and ride, it's the end of the line there is always a train there so you can wait inside the train. In Portland, every one uses the train. And umbrellas are for tourist lol
