The rooms are comfortable, light, and breezy, with good hot water and working air conditioning. The staff were willing to help me with all my inquiries. This town does not get a lot of foreign tourists so there is an opportunity to see the genuine culture and economic activity of the Delta region. I suggest that guests be patient and willing to work across language barriers. There is no onus upon staff in a local hotel to speak good English. Google Translate is a great tool. It has a great vibe, busy without being overwhelming, a nice little promenade and park along the Mekong and a pretty good dining and street food scene. There were some Westerners, but it felt completely untouristy. Small town.
Small town. No Grab service in Chau Doc. went to Tra Su cajuput forest by Taxi, in a remote area and hard to get transportation to the forest, taxi driver waited ( I didn't ask him to wait) he wanted to make more money with the return to town trip.
