Johannesbourg is a beautiful city but unfortunately with big safety issues mainly in the CBD. The area of Sandton where i stayed at the Sky hotel is maybe or not more beautiful but definitely cleaner and safer. But even there walking at night above all alone, is very risky. Wandering during day time can be enjoyable though you still have to exercise care. It's such a pleasure to go for a ballad at Mandella Square where many tourists go to get pictured with the huge statue of Madiba. Adjecant to Mandella Square visit the Africa's iconic shopping destination, the huge and sophisticated Sandton mall. Have a delicious lunch with a fresh mouth watering smoothie in one of the so many diversed restaurants or coffee shops of the mall. Shopping is pricy in this sophisticated mall. Southern Sun is an excellent computer hotel on the doorstep of OR Tambo airport. The rooms are comfortable and the shuttle service from and to the terminal is very good. The hotel has all the amenities business travellers require including a gym and pool. The bar and restaurant are also excellent. Centurion is a very nice place to visit. Especially if you just want to get aways from your norm and go relax somewhere else. It's a very beautiful town and very safe according to me. It has bolts and ubers everywhere and the mall has every store you might ever think off. It also has a Gautrain station which is huge plus for me.
