Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience.

Our rooms are designed with traditional Japanese aesthetics, featuring tatami mat flooring throughout. For those who prefer a futon on tatami or a bed, we also offer Japanese-Western style rooms. The warm ambiance is further enhanced by local artists' paintings adorning the walls. The hotel is very good situated in Takayama, near the train station and also near the old city. The staff is extremely helpful and nice (even that they almost speak no English). The room was big and well equipped. The Onsen is very nice. Dinner was superb with all kind of Japanese plates. The staff explained every thing what it was and how we were supposed to eat it, everything was served in a beautiful way.

Amazing and excellent experience! maybe the best place since we arrived in Japan! the staff was extremely welcoming and the details of this place makes the experience worth every second!! the Onsen is very nice and lucky I had it for myself and enjoy the experience fully!

Free Wi-Fi is provided at the lounge. I have been wanting to go to Ito for a very long time and when we started looking for places to stay I saw this gorgeous Ryokan. My family and I stayed there for 3 nights and we were blown away by how amazing it was! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming and the room itself was gorgeous and cozy. However my favorite part would have to be the onsen water itself after adventuring around a lot of central Japan the past couple weeks a soak was what we needed and K's house did not disappoint.

There is a coffee shop, and a minimarket is also available. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in.

Certain units feature a seating area to relax in after a busy day. Some units have views of the sea or mountain. A flat-screen TV is available. The room conditions are very nice. The room and the owner makes me comfortable and relax. I love the view here very much. If I go to Izu again, I will certainly want to stay here again.

Everything was beautiful in its simplicity. The private onsen was fantastic especially with the forest in the background. Everything was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a flat-screen TV. Some rooms include a seating area where you can relax. You will find a kettle in the room. Rooms include a private bathroom with a bath and shower, with slippers, free toiletries and a hair dryer provided. This is an exceptional ryokan and that applies to everything - onsens, kaiseki, service. The location is superb, the onsen is located on the shore of the river. There is a system in place which allows you to check availability of the onsens online. There are staff members who speak English which is helpful if you do not know Japanese.
