awesome experience here. everything was clean and neat. the food was nice. it was also very pleasant that there were few english speaking employees too.

I loved our stay here, the small house was amazing and everything was super clean. The garden is spectacular just like in the photos. I booked with halfpension and both the Japanese breakfast and dinner (hotpot and BBQ) were delicious. The location is far from the center of Osaka, but we came for Mt. Koya which is easy to reach from the hotel with a paid shuttle service that was pretty cheap! There is also a free timed shuttle service to Izumi-chuo station though. I'd stay here if you want to relax, bike or hike!

Beautiful view of the mountains and the city. Very close to Osaka and so easy to get to. Rooms were large and clean. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic.

Located in Katsuragi, Sanso Amanosato features 5-star accommodation with private balconies. A hot spring bath is available for guests, along with an open-air bath.

great experience in a Koyasan temple. our room was wonderful, with a view on the garden. we loved the food and the peace of the temple. with a pleasant walk, you can get to cemetery (and I recommend to visit it both during the day and at night).

Oh my! The absolute best hotel we stayed at. The ryokan was absolute. Outside foot bath. Hot stone rest room. Onsen in and out real onsen (people go there more for that). The dinner was a poetry. All music to my ears. Absolute amazing place.

I’d warmly recommend Eko-in to anyone looking to visit Koyasan. Not only is the location exceptional, being right next to Oku-no-in cemetery, but the rooms were amazing - beautiful and clean - and the staff was incredibly helpful. Everyone was very comfortable helping guests out in English, and they were very kind and accommodating as well. We were also invited to participate in meditation sessions, morning religious services, and of course the fire ritual, which was a wonderful experience. Dinner and breakfast, prepared in the traditional buddhist way (shōjin-ryōri) were served in the room, and everything was delicious and prepared with care. Another big plus is that they welcome guests with tattoos in the communal bath! Overall, nothing but positive impressions from Eko-in.

The monks were super kind and welcoming, the temple was beautiful, clean, spacious rooms, perfect for some relaxation time. The food was delicious!!! And the morning pray ceremony was beautiful and very informative.
