When we arrived, the hotel staff immediately carried our luggage to the room. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. That evening, it happened to snow heavily, and we went to the outdoor hot spring pool while enjoying the snowfall. Both breakfast and dinner were wonderful, with the waitress explaining the ingredients used in each dish. The famous Iya Kazura Bridge and Biwa Waterfall is just walking distance. It’s a hotel with great value for money, and our whole family loved it!

Yamatoya Besso is a very exceptional place where you get to experience a ryokan in an amazing onsen. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. I am hoping to visit again in the future and if I do, that would be a third visit.

Featuring beautiful nature views from its rooftop hot spring bath, Hotel Kazurabashi offers Japanese-style rooms and a dining room where food is prepared in the hearth at the guest's table. For more relaxation, it has a sauna and a games room, while massages can be arranged. The valley is beautiful and the hotel itself looks cozy and authentic. All the facilities were great and the views from rooms and onsens were incredible. All the stuff as well as the owner were very welcoming and courteous. And the owner beautifully sang us local song. Overall it was pleasant and relaxing experience, that we will remember for long. (Would 100% recommend booking a special dinner)

Amenities include an LCD TV, a DVD player and a fridge. Guests can choose to stay in Japanese-style houses, where Ogai Mori wrote his famous novel. The onsen was a great addition to the overall stay, especially the outdoor one. The room was very spacious for two people and we had a perfect view. The staff also went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay and treated us with a drink and a printed photo of us from our dinner as a honeymoon gift!

The hotel is directly located at the base station of the ropeway to temple Tairyuji, hence is a great starting point for visiting it. They had one colleague at the check-in who spoke english. The hotel has an Onsen-like spa, which I really enjoyed. Nice athmosphere.
