If you're looking for a pension within the mountains with a beautiful view as well as a very welcoming and accommodating host, I strongly recommend this place. The pension is directly facing Geumdang-Mountain and the valley, and the surroundings couldn't have been more pristine and peaceful. When I asked him for some recommendations regarding local taxi drivers through this app, he offered me to pick me up from Pyeongchang station without me asking for it. Right after pick-up, he gave me a tour of the area and also took me to a fantastic restaurant serving trout sashimi (송어회) when he found out that I hadn't eaten lunch yet. He also gave me a different room with a balcony without additional charges instead of the one I had booked when I told him that I came especially for the mountain view. Throughout my stay, he did his utmost to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The room was clean, comfortable, and very spacious for a single person. If you travel alone, I recommend you book the "Rose/Jangmi" room (장미) - because the view from the balcony was as great as promised. But next time, I will certainly come back with friends, as he offers plenty of more soacious options as well as to grill for your bbq if you bring your own meet. While you should bring your own food, you can also buy water, beer and makgeolli from him for reasonable prices.

Mr. Shim is an excellent host. He is incredibly attentive and always there to help. We mentioned we wanted to ski and he made arrangements for us to rent the ski equipment at the Phoenix Ski Park. When we drove there, we were greeted so kindly and they even sorted our parking and sent us to the ski park and pick us up once we were done.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at White Cabin. It is within 5-10 mins walk to the resort. The rooms are warm, spacious and has all essentials. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to help us.

Very peaceful location, room was large and comfortable. Balcony space was excellent. Prime location for getting onto the motorway and visiting the surrounding areas. Some restaurants and a convenience store at the bottom of the hill. But it doesn't take long to get to other areas to find a shop or other restaurants.

Really friendly and helpful staff made special efforts to help us when our car couldn't climb the icy driveway on arrival, and they provided complimentary shuttle service to and from Phoenix ski park for us every day. Our room was essentially a family apartment, complete with living room and kitchenette, and nice views of the mountains. Some Westerners may not like the relatively hard mattress on the bed and the futons in the second bedroom, but we have been living in Korea for over a year and are accustomed to Korean sleeping habits. The underfloor heating is great too, and very nice to sleep on! t would be a great place to visit in summer too, with a nice-looking swimming and relaxed camp vibe.
