I really liked it here - good distance from the slopes, cute clean accommodation and very friendly staff and good breakfast. the only “odd” thing was amount of stairs this place has and since we had rooms on the very top there is no normal window only roof one which doesn’t provide as much sun light as normal windows. but overall I would totally come back again as the price, location and everything was great. the two odd things I wanted to mention :)

The Schneeberghof lies located in the middle of a romantic landscape at the foot of the Schneeberg mountain and offers a wellness area, free WiFi and several indoor and outdoor tennis courts.

Overall a great place, which still looks like in its glory, a hundred or so years ago. Mainly a seminar hotel, but happy to receive individual guests. Easy train ride from Vienna 70 min to Payerbach-Reichenau. From there the hotel offers transport, or alternatively walk 20-30 min along Schwarza river (avoid the Main Street). Indoor pool. Good breakfast in impressive historic dining room. Lunch and dinner options. Friendly staff. Good price-quality relation. (The hotel, while very nicely renovated, is not necessarily luxury, at least the parts that I’ve seen.) Good hiking options in and around Reichenau.
