This is really near the Stuðlagil Canyon so I recommend staying here if this is you first or last stop in the day.

Egilsstaðir Airport is 35 km away. Great stay at hotel Austur. Room was good and linen soft. Breakfast is continental and did surely overcome our expectation. Would have loved to stay another night. High recommendation.
